80/81 Chevy truck differences

A friend has a 81 Chevy truck and came up with a 80 parts truck,he would like to use the front sheetmetal from the 80 on his 81 but the wipers on the 81 come up through the cowl panel and are under the hood on the 80. What we need to know is the firewall the same on both years and can the 80 wiper parts be used on the 81 or should he trade the 80 parts for a 81 front clip.

73 to 87 front clips are almost completely interchangable as a complete unit ..
i don't know about your issue..

You have to use the 80 wiper transmissions and linkage to fit the 80 clip. It all bolts up no problem.
