32 Chevy

Well, I have been running the 32 for about 10 years with the buick 215 under the hood. I'm gettIng bored so plan to switch out the buick with a 4.3.

Yeah, that's not the norm but a 32 chev is an unusual car so I don't want to go the usual 350 route. And the 4.3 will fit easily without messing with the firewall and will hook up to the existing Saginaw 4 speed.

I have been doing quite a bit of online research about warming over the 4.3. There are lots of articles and heresay about what works best.... As typical for online information quite a bit of it is conflicting...I'm wondering if any of you have personal experience with this engine that you could pass along?

I'm looking for a nice streetable, reliable motor putting out maybe 225 - 250 hp. An acquaintance has a recently rebuilt stock 1991 4.3 non balance shaft motor with HEI and Howell fuel injection for $1000 complete.

I suppose putting the portable heater next to it wasn't what you had in mind? :)

Didn't GM build a turbocharged version of the 4.3 for a couple years?

yuuup , in AWD little blazers. Typhoon was one name.  As I recall they were quicker than the corvette one year and insiders in GM were PO'd.

Hop up the 4.3 just like any other product.  Cam , intake, exhaust, compression.

I like that choice, should be a fun build!
