Quote from: "enjenjo"My wife and I had a great time at Debb and Rob's cookout yesterday. It was a job just getting there though.

I was going to take the DeSoto, pulling the RRT BBQ, and had make arrangements to pick it up Friday evening, head to Ididit in the morning, and then to Debb's. But Plans do go awry at times. Bill who had the DeSoto in his garage, was supposed to leave it out for me, but on his way out west, in St Louis, he remembered it, FINALLY. He called his daughter, but couldn't connect with her to open the shop. So friday evening about 9 pm, I started building a hitch for the Marlin. Finished it at 2am, painted and ready to go, but not installed. I got up at 730am, having given up on Ididit, to bring the car up front and install the hitch, and wire it for trailer lights. Uhhh...... No keys!!!! I searched for two hours, and finally called Fatcat, he came over and couldn't find them either, he had them last. He looked for an hour, and them called his son, who told him they were in a coffee can on the bench, why I don't know, but that's where they were. At 1030am we started installing the hitch, and wiring it for trailer lights. We had it done at 1130 am, we got cleaned up, and left for Debb's. I of course got lost in Ft. Wayne, but unlike some people I was only off by a couple blocks, someone here missed a whole city saturday  by 100 miles or so, but that is their story to tell.

Debb and Robb had well over 100 people there, and 30 or so hot rods and customs. There was tons of great food, more coming all day. Every time you hit the tables, there was new stuff there. Robb and several of us looked over the A couple he is building, good progress being made there, and we looked at the other cars all afternoon.

RRT people there, Debb KLL and husband Robb, George HRRP, Ken OBT, Joe GPster and his wife Linda, Denise HRLC and Rudy Roadstar, Frank fatcat, and his lady Trinka, Shelby HRG, me and my wife Cheryl, and probably some one I forgot.

I got to see some awesome cars, learned a few tips and tricks, saw some friends, had a good day. I liked it!!!

Sorry sue and i didnt make it. I cancelled on ididit also. we did the ypsi area street rods cider run today and had a good time. Im wondering though where all the bugs came from id swear it was too cold for bugs. Saw 2 nice bucks in a field on the way to meet a couple other friends for the cruise. I cant wait for deer season and i may even bow hunt a little this year..
Well looks like its about the end of the fun till next year. I got plans though.
For this winter im not gonna build another car im gonna relax do some more nascar online racing and enjoy my self. Last winter liked to killed me and broke me LOL.... Actually it was a ball but very stressful trying to build a first class car in six months and then take it to autorama....
Glad the party went well ill be at the next one for sure..
Dave

We got to get Josh signed up. He's the one that knew where the keys where. We had a great time. It was certainly good to be somewhere where the ground didn't squish under you feet and the grass wasn't stained mud brown. The food was great, even the chocolate brownie that left evidence of my mistake on the kitchen rug and the front of my RRT shirt. Gave Linda a chance to see what I was using as an excuse to have a few weekends from home. GPster

Joe, If it helps I told you all I had to do was throw the rug in the washer, which I did this morning, and its like new!!!!!  Stop worring about it, its just a rug!!! And besides that the Book you and Linda gave us was more than enough to cover me having to wash the rug, LOL    It was wonderful and thanks again!!!! Rob's been looking at it off and on all day.  And you can tell he likes books by the book shelf he has,    hee hee
Jim and Debbie, thanks so much for breakfast this morning. And that wonderful shrimp and veggie pizza!
Ken thanks for helping with the cooking! I stashed a piece of that sinful cake that you baked   and had it for a snack today!!!!  YUM YUM!!

And Enjenjo, If I had know you were going thru all that I wouldn't have allowed it!! But thank you so very much!! It was so cool having the grill here!  Our friends that we've talked to today, just can't stop talking about it!
Trinka, hope i spelled that right,  it was wonderful getting to meet you, sorry we didn't get more time together, thanks for everything you guys brought!!

and thanks to everyone what a wonderful group!!! :P

Rob and I had a great time, just wish we could have spent a little more time with everyone, I think there were people here I didn't even get to talk to!!!!     The weather turned out beautiful, was sweating that out for a while!

Does anyone know what happened to Rob's tiki?   LOL

well, he wanted me to ask!! even though I know, but can't tell him, ha ha
he will find out friday, I've been told.
Gary told him that his bosses son put it in the fire bowl!!

Here are a few shots I managed to get    I didn't have time to get good pics!!  I took a few with the 35MM also, sure wish I had gotten more. I gave a friend my camera hope she got some for me!!

Roadstar

Now that was a party :D  :D

I can't thank Deb and Rob enough for the hospatality. For not knowing you guys for all that long I couldn't have felt more comfortable. You have a wonderfull house and a perfect setting for a party of that size.

I think Frank already mentioned the Thousands of people and at least 600 cars. :D  Well I get carried away sometimes but there were lots of people and a bunch of really cool cars ranging from the coolest customs to Super rare speed equiped Duece coupes to to muscel cars to die for(You should have seen the Black 69 Camaro).

Did I mention the Food OH.....MY.......GOD!!!!!!!

With all the people bringing side dishes, there was enough food to cater to everybodys taste.  And every time I went back ion for alittle taste of something else a new side dish would appear,  I was in heaven.

And I just hope someone took a pic of the desert table.

Lets just call it  OUT OF CONTROL!!! :D

I should also add me and Denise  Cruised the back roads there and back. With the most perfect days both sat and sunday. I would have been easy and about 8 hours quicker blazing the freeway there and back, but the enjoyment I get out of cruising back roads on a sunny day with a special friend in my Street Rod is what it's all about.

Yeah Jim thanks for Breakfest it was great hanging out with you and Deb.

George,Ken, Frank and the rest of the Frank Family I always enjoy our time togeather.

And lastly it will take some time but I will eventually get over loosing Frank Jr to Trinka. Please take good care of him         :P  :D  :D

:b-d: Chears everybody :b-d:

No mater what Frank says, I didn't miss the party by 100 miles, I just missed the town Ididit was in by 100 or so!
Great party, thanks Deb and Rob for being such great hosts.
Guess I should have stayed in town a couple of more hours for breakfast, I didn't know Jim was buying!  And I really like steak an eggs!
Will, that was probably my last hot rod thing before spring, so it was a great ending.
Now I'm starting to get ready for two gigantic Halloween parties and the big hunt, guess the summer isn't over quite yet!

Well not much more can be added that hasn't already been said.  I had an AWESOME time on Saturday!  Debb is the hostess with the mostess.  TONS of yummy food, lots of * rides to check out, and most importantly, great friends to spend the weekend with.

Thanks to Debb and Rob for throwing a party that got us all together.  Thanks to Enjenjo for dragging the BBQ there. Thanks to Jim and Deb for the yummy breakfast on Sunday morning.  Thanks to Ohio Blue Tip for offering to transport the cookies that I made for Charlie Chops to him.  And a very special thanks to Roadstar for taking the time off from two customer car builds to spend the weekend doing something that was important to me.

I took lots of photos which I'll post tonight after work.

Debb, I'll burn you a CD of all the photos I took and send it to you.

Now there's a huge mistake!!!! That topless cruising must have affected your brain. I know "cookie" can be a smooth talker but talk about the fox guarding the chicken coupe.   Did anyone check the package weight before and after? Has the delivery been confirmed?

Sounds like another great party and fun for all who attended. Sorry i missed it......Frank
