We took the eng and trans out as 1 piece left the trans fluid in! I looked all
over for a plug couldent get it for a F150. We made our own from 1 1/4"
plastic pipe and a cap. Got it to spin on a drill press and sanded it until it
would fit. I just stuffed a 1" socket into a 1 1/4" plastic pipe, added some
scotch tape to make it fit tighter! Coast about $3.50. Works well!!

Most people have a higher than average number of legs.

Good idea, and better than my method of taping a plastic bag over the end of the trans...

looks like a nice lathe project also...

i am taking the OD for the NON cap section is 1.5"  just to make it easier than test fitting..

a way to make the cap a LOT cheeper is to look in the ABS plumbing section.. as they sell GLUE in caps that are thin   to seal new drain pipes while the dry wall and painting is done..

No! Its 1.25"

The Ford F150 yoke measure's 1.239 (auto trans)

I just sanded the end of the plug until I got below that figure! Then taper
sanded  to where the cap was gluded!

I tryed all the parts store's and found 1 place that had plugs for chevy,
didnt find any on the net! The guy at the local trans shop said thay got
there's from a parts guy the come's to there shop in a truck.

After waisting alot of time and fuel I stoped by Home Depo and bought a 2'piece of PVC and a cap. The cap was less than .50 cents.
