Good build day. Joe, Denise, Fatcat, and George were here. we got the front axle located and jigged into place, Denise welded on the body, George was the grinder man today. Joe handled fabricating and sandblasting. I spent the day making jigs and fixtures. The body is now setting on the frame for the first time. It looks like a Bonneville car, pictures will be up soon.

Sorry it took me a while but here's some pics from yesterday.

Denise layin' down some welds

Denise not wanting a picture of the welds

I snuk a picture anyway.

enjenjo doing his thing

Me cleaning up some welds

GPster (Joe) finished drilling holes in some frame pieces

Joe deburring

Getting ready to cut the body braces out before setting the body on the frame

Here's a few pics of the body setting on the frame

Now all we need is a milk crate & a steering wheel and we can sit in the car and go "Vroom  Vroom Squeeeaaal Waaaaah Squeal Waaaaaah"

So what do you think? The tubing on the front of the frame is the front axle location, wheelbase 120". Right now the frame is set for 5" ground clearance at the rear, and 3 1/2" at the front. We may lower the rear another inch.

The car will be set up for most any engine, but we will probably mock it up with a Chevy V8. If any one has a Payar mockup block we could use, that would be great.

Well I guess I've got a month to practice here at the house before our next build day and alot of stuff to practice on.

Special thanks to Enjenjo for all the little bits and pieces for me to weld into my flower trellis.  Much appreciated sweetie.

Good to see the progress Frank. Looks like you could use 2 people to grind welds.   I think the wheels on the cart are just about the right size for the car.... Hope you guys and gal had fun working together.

Are we going with the front suspension ahead of the sheetmetal? That is a long distance from the firewall to the axle.

Have you seenthe crosley thread over onthe H.A.M.B.?

The plan is to extend the front end to cover the front axle. The axle is set at 120"
