I just got back from the local NAPA store and they have started carrying Aerokroil. I don't know if all the NAPA places have it but it might be worth checking. I have a "source" for it but many people have asked me where to buy it and i had never seen it for sale in a store.

Thanks: Always had my Brother sneak it out of the airplane shop he works at.

I checked with my 'go to' guy at the local NAPA (Allendale) and this is the reply I received:

"Any idea where this originated? While there is a new chemical
catalog, Aerokroil does not show up on a system search. So it's
either too new an item or it's not stocked through the NAPA system.
If we could find out where his local NAPA store is, I could inquire.
Bruce".

So... where is your local NAPA store, please?
My project is 90% finished, with only 90% to go.

It's called Modern Motors, in Port Huron Mi. (810) 985-8196, ask for Jeff.

Thanks - he will check on it for me tomorrow.

You guys probably know this already, but don't ever apply heat to anything you've used Kroil on - it becomes a pretty toxic stuff when heated.

butch27

Thanks: I didn't know that.

I did not know that - thanks for the heads-up.  Usually I do it the other way around - apply penetrant to the heated part.  I would guess the same warning applies.  I know it sure smells nasty.
