about the only thing that i see left is front tires/suspension. throw another set of tires on the front just to see what happens?

i haven't seen anything that the collective minds of the RRT couldn't solve so good luck

Have you tested it on a chassis dyno ?

That would isolate the front suspension.

We ran it on stands up to 70 MPH without the front wheels turning. It vibrated

Checked the runout on the rear axles, less than .010", no twist evident.

Have you tried different wheels/tires on back ?

Can we assume that when the car was run on stands, the stands were under the axle tubes, so the suspension was loaded as it would be on the road?  Have you tried it with no wheels/tires?  How do you check pinion angle with the rear end out (if I read that part right)?

Maybe try an exorcist?
My project is 90% finished, with only 90% to go.

Yes, the suspension was loaded on the stands. The angles were checked with an angle finder with the suspension loaded. We tried different tires, and no tires, no change.

Try a new trans mount, or support the trans on a jack to take the weight off the mount, try it out.
This happened to me on my last street car.

just a thought

From the posts;  you keep looking at the back of the car.  Are you sure the vibration is at the back end since it is road speed related?

Curious; have you had all four (4) of the wheels/tires off of the car, & over to a tire shop that can individually spin-balance them to check for a bent or out-of-round rim/wheel?  Since the problem is speed related:

(The vibration changes with road speed, but not engine RPM, and is the same when under load or coasting. Starts about 65 mph, and gets worse as you go faster.)

Might this be an issue?

he stated in a earlier post that it vibrated while on jack stands....

how are the mounting bushings on the arms  holding the rear axle assy?
