Daily Driver, GM Auto Transmission 4L60E help

Long Time no post.

1999 Chevy S-10 4WD 4.3, 146K. Auto tranny 4L60E was starting to slip from a stop, then engage with a * as the rpm raised. I ease the gas on from a stop to minimize this. But then a few weeks later I'm getting a really hard 1-2 shift. Was wondering what might be causing this? Fluid level looks normal, if anything a touch high, looks good doesn't smell burnt. Doesn't leak, never needed to add any in 6 years. Never serviced, that's my fault though.
