All the way down to $1.30 for regular.

Rrumbler

Sad thing is that I remember when it broke .35/gal for 101 octane in early '70, and I pitched a blue fit.  I was gonna swear off driving, let alone racing.  Been a couple of other landmark "fits" along the way to where we are today; now, though, I just fill up and pay - I know where the most reasonable places are, and what fits our lifestyle, and just go with it. :x  :x
Rrumbler - Older, grouchier, broken; but not completely dead, yet.

Some of you might get some fun out of this color coded map showing the range of prices.............kinda resembles some of those political maps you see at election time. :D   It updates regularly so is changing often.

I went to Cincinnati this past week and I gassed up locally at a Speedway ststion for $4.04/ gal. Wfen I got there I passed a Shell Station that was $3.90/gal. On the way homeabout half way I stopped in Jackson, which is a county seat and on a big road that heads towards  Columbus and bought Sunoco for $3.77/gal. This is all in the same state with-in 200 miles of each other with Jackson being in the middle. GPster

You have to take into consideration that the product sells to different retailers at different prices.

A friend owns a Shell station and has to buy his gasoline from a specified Shell distributor.   .....Other Shell stations near him purchase from a different Shell distributor at significantly lower prices.

I don't know if the price to the retailer is determined by location, greed, volume of sales, or other factors.

My friend's cost is usually at, or higher than, what other stations are charging at the pump!

paid 3.49 a gallon at Costco today, regular grade gasoline..

i got into a short conversation with the Costco employee and another fellow filling up his SUV. They were talking about the heat.

The SUV driver did not understand how I could stand the heat (93*F) .  I was on the Goldwing with helmet and riding jacket on.

I told the driver : " I was born and raised here" .  That seemed to explain it to both of them, I guess.

Costco employee had lived here 4 yrs, the SUV driver had been here  2 yrs
