Well I hit the ole 50 Saturday, I know it's still young to some but it was a mile stone for me.  I know I had planed a big BBQ with a cruz through the secenic hills for a lot of roddin friends but a few things came out of now where and kinda put the kabash to that, but my family did a super job to make my special day the greatest!!  First our son Chad loaded his Tbucket and took me to Omaha Ne for the T-Bucket Nationals where we saw a lot of really cool buckets from all over the U.S. even met and had a realy long chat with Norm Grabowski (hope I spelled that right)  and had a personal tour of the Kookie II  and his hauler,  He's a pretty cool guy!!  Chad even suprised me by having the Hooters girls pose in a pic with me !!  Boy thats hard on a old man!!  Then when we got home my wonderful wife Gail had a suprise party for me with some of my close buds from work and that sure put a tear in my eyes and was a total suprise.  What a perfect ending to a beautiful day even if it did rain some.  It don't get any better than this day did, spending some quality time with Chad and then with the rest of the family and close friends!!!  THANKS  Gail, Will, Chad, and Andy!!!  You're the best!!  Dad    :D  :D  :D

Now if I could just master the pic posting thing I'll share some pics later!!  Bill

Well congrats!
Sounds like you did the only thing that's better than a day cruising with the rod, spending it with friends and family!

I'm just about ready to celebrat the 6th anniversary of my 50th birthday. I'm almost as old as Purplepickup. Some of us have been there, some of us will be. This is the turning point in your life. You're too old to get the kids meal at McDonalds and it will be 5 years till you qualify for the senior citizens price at Captain D's. Congratulations! Now we'll wait and see what the "Chaplin" has to say about this. GPster

Happy birthday!

I too turned 50 recently, and enjoyed it with family and old friends.
For me the months leading up to the 'big 50' did find me doing some soul searching.  I figured I should get on an do some of those things for myself that I've been putting-off for years.

That sounds great! I got 400 bucks to buy car parts from all of my family :D

I think 4 of us RRT'ers had birthdays on the 24th.

Happy birthday, Bill. Remember that you are not just getting older, you are getting better! Sounds like you celebrated in style. It was good seeing you in Des Moines.
