I have a 5-digit number on the driver's side of the firewall on my 40 Ford. I cant find any references to this number anywhere and was wondering what the heck its for, body style or what. I have another frame under it since the original was pretty bad shape so I cant check it against the old serial number. Does any one have the answer? The number is 42612.

Oh, I put that on there with my Squint Ringo Number Punch Set a few years ago. Ive been looking for what I did with that car, thanks for finding it for me! Ill be down to pick it tomorrow. HeHe.

Honestly, I have no idea. My 49 f1 has a small plate rivited on its firewall on the passenger side, but I seem to have misplaced it. has but I havent really examined it close enough to look for stamped numbers. I cannot remember my 35 having any such numbers stamped anywhere but on the drivers top frame rail.
