In an era of lousy customer service, I have to report a case of over and above service from Autometer. They are located here in Illinois where all their products are made--no imported stuff. I have one of their digital tachometer/shift light combos in my '32 which lost several LED bars so I could no longer read the gauge. I have had it for two years. So, I called Autometer, and Jim, their tech guy, said board was bad and told me to send it in for repair. So, I did. Turn around time was supposed to be 5-7 days which I thought was pretty good. Well, a month went by, and I called this morning to check up on it, and the gal that answered the phone told me she would check on it and call me this afternoon. A few minutes ago I got a call from the head of customer service apologizing for their "goof-up" and was told they would send out a new gauge right away rather than repair mine. Now, that is what I call customer service! Kudos to Autometer!

My wife worked for them part time years ago when our kid was still in school.. They were very-very small, just starting out . The attitude at that time was to treat every customer special & do their best to satisfy everyone.  They knew it would come back 10 fold & it has . I too have had to exchange some items & TT their tech dept for help.. Nothing but good service & "thank you for buying Autometer" on every visit ....

They actually are in multiple buildings in Sycamore IL .... A very good sized operation today .....

I recently helped a friend with some wiring on his roadster ...Turns out his new S-W gauges were inop out of the box ...The S-W solution???   Buy another set & send the old ones in ..." We will decide if they are bad" ....Their tech dept was ...ah...um...Non existent???..

I too have had the best service from Autometer.  I am to the point now that I will only buy their product.

I sent an old speedometer to them that we had broke trying to spool it backwards.  We were trying to get the correct miles on it as the customer had a new engine in the car and he wanted the miles to reflect the engine use.  They fixed the speedometer and then they called me to see how many miles I wanted on it. Even though it was all my fault there was no charge.

Years ago, I used there tach on my alky dragster. Tire shake would destroy it. They fixed it many times and it seems like the highest repair bill was $15. The other companies in the 80's didn't repair anything. I'm still an Autometer guy.

I've got a full set of guages I bought 20 or so years ago still in the boxes saved for a project that has still to see the light of day.  They're collectable now but I've got a feelin the warranty might be expired.
What\'s that noise?,,, Never mind,, I\'ll check it later

If they are Autometer you may be pleasantly surprised if you need "factory" help after they are installed .......  Just remember to ask politely.... 8)
