A very productive day today. I made some brackets to hold the skids on Josh's shed, they are all ready to go. Then I made hinges for Frank's trailer rear doors. They wanted $140 plus shipping for the hinges I wanted, so I decided that I could make them a lot cheaper than that. Outside of the time, and the electricity to weld them, I used scrap metal to make them, so they were pretty cheap.

I finished pulling the transmission on the customer truck that is here. Now I have to invent a bracket to hold the transfer case shift lever before I install the new trans.

Oh, I spent an hour trouble shooting the sand blaster, before I figured out the compressor was turned off.

Frank got his trailer frame painted today, so now we can start assembly.

I got caught off guard yesterday.  Over a foot of snow and the Wrangler was not set up to plow yet.  6:34 am. The wife is working today so I am the shuttle service.

I just returned from Wichita. For those of you that are music fans, I went to see Leann Rimes at the Kansas Star casino. It was a good show. I'm not a gambler but I did try my luck and I won big! I put in $2 in the penny slots and won $3.70. I cashed out. I was almost embarrassed at the cashier turning in my stub.
Now it's oil change duty on the wife's car.

I am fabricating a transfer shift lever mount for this T5 I have about 3 hours in it so far, and am only about 1/2 done.

I picked up leaves for the last time this season. I don't think this is the latest I've done this but I started in shirt sleeves so it was nice for November. After watching the rust thread, I'm glad of where I am. :)

Frank, elaborate on your "transfer shift mount" on the t5, please.

The truck this T5 is going in is a 62 Chevy K10 4x4. These early factory 4x4s had a "divorced" transfer case on it's own separate mounting  about mid way in the truck. There is an auxiliary bracket on the SM465 trans that mounts the transfer shift lever, and a rod going back from it that actually shifts the transfer case. I am fabricating a bracket for the T5 that performs the same function of holding the lever in the same position.  I'll get some pictures when I have it figured out. I thought today I was on the right track, but I discovered a problem just before I came in for dinner. The rod won't move through it's full travel. I believe I have a solution.

No heat in the house.  More problems with this new heat pump installed in august 2014.

It appears I made a bad choice on company to use.  More visits on this unit than the previous unit had in 15 yrs

Tony, that has to be way past annoying. Winter has returned here again. Too cold for my kind of fun. The past three days, I was in short sleeves in the afternoon. I was scraping ice in the morning but today is ice all day.

Annoying is a word I have not used about this heat pump install. LOL

I checked for voltage to ground unit. Good.

I checked a/c function. Same. Ground unit does not cycle on.

Pulled cover off ground unit  wire connections area. Tested ground unit via relay there.  Compressor and fan for coils come on.

End of my testing.  Some reason the call from the T-stat  for the ground unit to cycle 'on' is not happening.

Only item in my mind on this is:  Cox cable   Tech was in attic to hook up coax cable for feed into rooms.  I can not see where he would have broken the T-stat wires.  THe wires are not hanging down loose.

Not a bad place to start. When troubleshooting "what was changed last" is usually a pretty good place to start.

It's a bit of a pain to do, but a continuity check on the t-stat wiring is where I'd go next; has the t-stat got voltage on one of the terminals? It should be the red wire, and have 18 or 24 volts a/c.  If it has voltage, there is some sort of an interruption in one of the other wires to the ground unit

T-stat has voltage. Wire connections are good in T-stat.

The heat pump ran a couple weeks ago when temp dropped to 40 - 42*F outside.  Now, the ground unit does not come on with heat or A/C .  Could be wires, or freon leaked out, bad relay, circuit board failure

Last person in attic was cable tech guy.  I have been in the attic since then.  T-stat wires are not in a place where you could walk on them.  Wires look fine. I did not pull side panel off air handler unit.

I am at a point where i am soooo po'd
