Spectator killed at Firebird race track in AZ

I would think they would put a tall barrier along the track to the end of spectator seating, like chain-link but able to absorb energy without failing. It would interfere with the view, but cover the liability end for the track owners, protect people... I'm sorry the lady died, no one wants these things to happen.

One item I find interesting is NHRA  has not released the name of the woman killed.   Her name is in the news , so it was released by some one,  not NHRA.   At least that is what I read and hear

I wait to hear how many lawyers are involved.  I also read she was in a mobility scooter ,  other reports she was not.  Does not matter , just a tragedy it happened

Before I quit in 96 there was an article about Wally and his philosophies. One was that there will never be anything negative in National Dragster about the sport. Years ago there were numerous people killed at drag strips. There was never any press unless it was somebody famous. I believe that policy is still in place.
