Has anyone made there own turning plates

Has anyone made there own simple turning plates to align your vehicle at home.  I have the caster camber tool, but having the wheels turn freely would simplify the the procedure and maybe not have to move the vehicle back and forth to set things in.  Thanks ED

Set the tires on 10-12 sheets of newspaper.

They'll turn fairly easy.



Strikes me that the 4-wheel roll around dollys that go under each tire would work well.

I will give the newspapers a try unless a better idea comes around. And do have some homemade dollies

We used to use 2 pieces of cardboard with chassis grease between them... Good for one time only but priced "just right".....

describes making some out of 3/8 thick plastic... with teflon grease to lube it...

they describe the super lube teflon grease..

but i would imagine the reese trailer ball teflon grease would probably work almost as well... i use it for all kinds of stuff...

harbor freight used to sell the turn tables ... but they seem to not be listed any more.. guess someone bought them all up... at the price they were selling them at.. wheel alignment tool companys could make a lot of profit..

the wheels not only have to be able to turn... but to slide in and out also...

I cut four pieces of 1/4" plate 9X12" and put two under each wheel using the Teflon grease between them. They worked well for me and allowed the wheels to slide in each direction and they are reusable and recyclable.

Heard somewhere that wax paper on a shiny or real smooth surface works really good.
