Anyone know what the outside to outside width is if you shorten the long side to take a short side axle on a '95 up?

Thanks,

Charlie

i would say 2-7/8" narrower... but i am tired....

That means it should be 56 1/2" overall with two short axles.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

Looks like right around 56-1/2" is correct. Need one and an extra short axle for the TransAm Volvo. Guess I'll start looking after the Bonneville trip.

Thanks guys.

There is a lot of information in the last link that Wayne gave me for my Ranger problem. The story was about someone putting an 8.8" in an early Ranger and he did a lot of studying. I'm not sure but if the 8.8" is 28 spline the axels out of an early 7.5" may do the trick and the '83 to '92 axels are 1" shorter per side than '93 and newer. GPster
