I talked to Earl, the guy who sold me the used governor.  He said he didn't understand why the transmission would shift correctly at first and then start having shift problems so soon after the service unless there was dirt/trash stuck in the valve body.  He said, "hold the accelerator to the floor and keep it there, it will shift just before redline."  After doing this a few times the transmission began to shift better and better.  After two days of driving it runs like new.  Turns out the old fluid was very dirty and the valves were sticky.  The new fluid needed time to circulate and lubricate the valves as well as the filter removing dirt/debris etc.  Forcing the transmission to shift at such high RPMs caused very high pressures in the valve body helping to "clear" dirt and debris.  Thanks for all the help.  This is a really good forum.  Looking forward to more good discussion.  I was able to fix the transmission for about 50 bucks.

I don't know about your problem but I do know that changing (or flushing) the trans fluid can really help with problems.  Also, sometime right after rebuild some trans' don't work right and need a little "driving" to get things working properly!

Well, the tranny went back to shifting at irregularly again.  Transmission  Earl dropped the pan once more and also dropped the valve body and cleaned the valves and drilled some of those holes out to make a "make shift"  shift kit.  * that dudes good!!!  I wish that tranny worked like that from day one.  I've learned some much about trannys the last couple of weeks, I'm lovin it.
