I'm changing my electric fan with the thermo sensor that is now going into the radiator draincock ( too cool there plus I don't like it) I found a place on my  Edlebrock manifold near the thermostat. What is a good kit to use  that is adjustable and has a short probe.   Electric Gauge ??

buddy has one from painless that he likes--he says it does a good job--like the fact he can adjust it depending on the season.

Speedway sells one that works off your temp guage.

I second Vance's recommendation. I use that Centech unit in my '32, and it is a very slick set up.

I have the Dakota unit in two of my cars.  It's a few dollars more but it uses the sensor that the gauge uses so it doesn't require any additional holes, plus it is programmable to handle 2 speed/dual fan setups.  My 54 is a single speed while the mustang is dual fan.

Yup,  I have one too !!  Works great.

Well I learned something new. I didn't know about those. Pretty slick
Some days it\'s not worth chewing through the restraints.

Leon: Have apart number for that sender/ sensor?

Leon

The Dakota Digital one can be calibrated to work with any sensor, so whatever you use for your gauge will also trigger the fan.  They have a table of several different sensor/gauge combos, and if you are using something different you can custom calibrate the unit to your setup.  Since I have Dakota gauges, it just required one wire hookup to the sensor to operate the fan unit.
Here's the unit I have

They have a new unit coming out http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=641/category_id=109/home_id=59/mode=prod/prd641.htm

The big difference with the second one is it comes with a 70 amp relay but they both work the same.  They also have the operation manuals online if you want to look at them.
