Disc brake caliper brackets

Thinking of making my own caliper kit for a 9" I have. Would 1/4" plate be thick enough for the caliper brackets? Thanks guys.

Yes, it's thick enough, but marginal. To me it flexes too much. I prefer 3/8"

That's what I thought too. Many of the kits are 1/4" and they look thin. I'll go with 3/8. Thanks again.

Kits are built to a price, usually as low as possible.


For a street driver, the extra thickness is cheap insurance.
