Model A Headers

I have the Model A pickup with 350/350 and run full fendered with the hood.  My headers are no good so need to replace them.  The ones I have were huggers.  I had to extend the collector on the left side a couple of inches to get past the steering shaft ujoint.  What do you recommend?  Are the collectors longer on some than others?  Recommendations?

Sanderson makes a very good header. You might contact them to see if they will make a modification for you if it is needed.

Not to hijack this post, but I have a 385 fastburn crate motor with aluminum heads with ""d port" exhaust that I will be putting in a 31 Model A on 32 rails with Vega box.. There doesn't seem to be many D port header or manifold options that I have been able to find.  A friend of mine had to  elongate the mounting holes on his Sanderson block headers and that still leaves him with round header tubes against D port heads.  Any one come across this yet?  Any options ?    Tom...

Take a look at Rewarder headers.  They don't get much attention but I have seen them a few times and are nice quality with 3/8" flanges.  They offer angle and straight plug, standard and D-port in a variety of primary tube sizes also.  They custom made a set for a friends nailhead Buick and are good to work with.

They look like something that would work for me since the flange is the problem.  What are these?

I have even thought of resorting to using ram horns.  Sheesh.

those are edelbrock block huggers i found when i did a block hugger header search over at summit...

there are several options on them...

i would think that a lot of block hugger header manufacturers or some of the prebent tube bend companys would have prebent compound ells to make hooking up block header headers easier... instead of just the offset collector adaptor....
