I had to remove the head from my Falcon 200cid engine.  A lifter was collapsed and would not pump up with a drill motor driving the oil pump.

I have the lifter fixed up now.

Can I reuse the Felpro head gasket since the engine was never fired?

this is what i use on all of my head gaskets...

if the gasket is not damaged... there is a 90 percent chance that it will work for many years...

smear it on.. let the solvents evaporate for 15 minutes... then drop it on...

it never drys...    it does not wash off with gasoline..    it is good for 600F

i had a rubber ink roller at one point to spread it out thin...

i have been using it for 15 years...  only had one failure... that was a 22r that really needed the deck machined...

it is not like anything else...

myself, i'd just spray it with some copper coat and torque it back on.
unless it's a steel shim type..
The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it\'s still on my list

I'm with tomslik , copper spray and button it up .It hasn't run, so the majority of gasket crush has yet to happen.

what is the cost of a new gasket VS the head ache if the gasket fails?

I have reused gaskets before with never a problem. Since it's a Fel-Pro and possibly one of their blue seal versions and never run, then the sealant hasn't been activated. But with that said, how expensive can a head gasket be compared to disassembling the motor (and my recollection was that these 200 cid heads were nasty to handle) one more time and perhaps dumping the antifreeze, putting some water in the oil and having to change that again........
