We've had a bunch of wildfires BBQing north California for the last week, they were all started by lightning strikes. I feel sort of responsible because, on the last spare-the-air day I unesscessarily drove my truck to the store for a sixer. Maybe, just maybe if I'd walked the three blocks for the beers I could have averted the climactic anomally that caused the lightning storm. Here's a pic of what we've been attempting to breathe. It was taken in the late afternoon but the sun looks pretty much the same all day long.    Jbird 8)

I heard on the news this AM that there are over 1000 fires burning now.

God bless the people affected, and the Fire Fighters tryin' to put it out

If you were in Florida, I'd say don't worry. It won't be long 'til a hurricane comes along and drowns the fires.

just saw a news story of a freek hail storm in rhode island...  using wheel loaders to clear the streets...

i wonder if that is from the smoke from the wild fires here and in other parts of the country...

it does take particles to make it hail like that...

here on the west coast... smog from China has been found drifting in  the air..
