If I need to replace the AC compressor in my 91 Corvette (R-12), what other years and more importantly, what other make/model compressors can I use?  Any help appreciated. Thanks, Frank

Most any GM car of that era will have the same compressor.

Well now checking around it appears the 88 to 96 Corvette use the same compressor and according to this site:

http://www.car-stuff.com/mmparts/chevy-corvette/a-fs-c_compressor.html

the compressor used is a NIPPONDENSO 10PA20C unless you have the ZR-1 which appears to use a NIPPONDENSO 10PA17C.

Googling the NIPPONDENSO 10PA20C it appears to be used on several Japanese Luxury types like Lexus and Acura and a few other hi end vehicles of that vintage.

Here's a little more info about the 10PA20/17 compressors:

From the looks of the thing, it would appear that it could be replaced with an aftermarket Sandon compressor like most streetrodders use.

Thanks for the info guys. Boy those Nippon compressors aren't cheap. I'm assuming a clocking may be in order regardless. I'll let cha know.......Frank
