Is Endura Shine (Edelbrock finish) powder coating???

Hi all,

I have some vintage finned aluminum valve covers I want to have powder coated in a simili chrome finish (looks like Edelbrock's Endura Shine finish).

My question is, will powder coating withstand engine compartment heat.

They're still showing an Edelbrock intake in their automotive gallery.

I just sent Goodrich an email asking if I can farm out some valve covers to them. I'll let you guys know what they reply.

I don't know if Endurashine/Permastar is the same as regular old powder coating, but, I powder coat valve covers, intakes, timing covers, etc. etc. etc. with excellant results. The stuff cures at 350-400 degrees F so engine compartment temps are a non issue. Exhaust manifolds are a whole new ball game and require a higher temp coating. Let me know what they want to coat them, maybe I can save you a few bucks. I'm in North Califonia.

Wayne it should work great on a prop, until you bounce it off the bottom a few times. It's tougher than most paints but still not invinceable. You pay shipping, I'll coat yours and we'll see how it holds up. I have some nice metal flake that might even attract some fishies.   Jbird

It's 30" wide, 30"deep and 24" tall. Go to Eastwood or Summits' Tool catalog and pick out what color cookies you want and we'll work out a TS deal.      Jbird

Permastar is not just a Powdercoat (although it is used in the process)-they use  vacuum metalization (to make it look like chrome) and then Powdercoat it-here is the Company that wil do Permastar (owned by the same guy)-

Here's a couple of examples of valve covers I've done using different powders layered over each other. These are silver base with 2 coats of transparent black, if I use plain clear gloss they're a brighter silver and way shiny. Powdercoat is * near impervious to engine heat or chemicals. If you want me to give it a shot let me know. Jbird

Do the steering arms unbolt like the aftermarket 37-41 spindle dropped axle arms do?

What's the going price for them?
