I hope you meant 306 cid. If you have 206 cid the 8" is overkill and you certainly won't need those traction bars.

think turbo with a trans brake

A 63 Falcon in Tucson AZ with a turbo'd 250 cid inline 6 produced 318 hp and 500 ft lb of torque at the rear wheels.  This engine did use the newly released  all aluminum cyl head with an Aussie intake manifold.

The 63 Falcon has run 10.9's

Since I am down 50 cubic inches there will less power .... for now.
