I like it. Former 4 door? What sort of driveline?

The only way a Kelvinator of that age would have survived in Michigan to now would have required buying it new in April and putting it in a hermetically sealed box in October....

Yep it was a 4 door wagon. I'm running all the stock drive train except for some chrome goodies and the springs it's on air bags
The car has been in So.Cal. all it's life my grandfather bought it new in late '59 then gave it to my sister around '74 and she gave it to me in '01 Of course grandpa would not understand this he was one of those "If it aint broke don't mess with it "...... Sorry Gramps

Hmmm, sounds like my Dad...a fanatical Point A to Point B man. From 1951 to 1970 when he passed away he owned 3 cars, 2 were more doors and the last one was a 58 Chieftain 2 dr hardtop...don't know how that snuck in there. He was a good brush paintjob guy, too.

A local buddy of mine has a Rumbler 4dr wagon of the same vintage...his grandparents also bought it new....It lived in Iowa it's entire life and is in pretty good condition considering.I think it only has 40K original miles...it is just waiting for a makeover...I think perhaps after grandpa has gone to his greater reward  Looks like you're having fun!

I love cars that are "different", and this one certainly is. Can't wait to see a picture of it finished. I saw a nice pic of '50 Plymouth "sedan delivery" a while back. Local antique specialist has a '50 Plymouth wagon that's in nice shape, and it's got me thinking....

....but, looking at your car reminds me of how old I am getting when I realize that I worked on a number of new and near-new cars from this era as a 16-year-old working in the local "Nash" dealer in 1963.
