I am enquiring after a Buick repro /obsolete parts supplier,or a specialist wrecker company. Who would have a manual locking mechanism for the RH side of a 62 Buick Special/Skylark convertible roof to lock the top to the screen frame,I have one that is busted ,any leads appreciated.  Thanks    Frank.

It uses the same latch as a Corvair if that helps.

I just recently bought some off of e-bay for my  '62 F-85 Convert. They were in the SUN VISOR parts section, as the hold down is part of the visor assembly. Paid $9.00 for the pair. Seems that they are the same part for Buick, Olds, Pontiac and Corvair. Was told that they are very hard to find, but found them on e-bay the very next day.................jb exsedan

Thanks enjenjo and exsedan.   exsedan are the parts you purchased, the  brackets that screw to the windshield frame?. The actual part I am after is the part that is screwed to the roof iron that has the locking mechanism.  Frank.

The parts I bought are the portion that screws to the windshield frame (the actual sun visor). Havn't seen any of the latch assemblies........jb exsedan

you might try this link for the to parts you need.

their store is about 10 minutes east of downtown los angeles on a good traffic day.   but a lot further from down under.

there is a glass shop on mission road in los angeles called san luis auto glass (beware one of their phone numbers does not work anymore)

500 N Mission Rd
Los Angeles, CA 90033
(323) 342-0693
(323) 343-0003     they might have the other framed glass you are looking for...      they have a bad rep from some people as nobody there speeks english and they dont have a clue to anything but slap in on work...(think tijuana) but they have 4 floors of glass all sorted .   they use an elevator to get it...

if you have the glass and frames out.  take a photo with  an inch ruler inframe .(oh great where are they going to find an inch ruler or yard stick down under...)   send me an email with the images and on a trip passed there ..  i will give the prints to alberto to see what they can find... yes alberto speeks english... i send him a lot of work.   there are a ton of broken windshileds here in LA   they are even open on chrismas.

Thanks very much Wayne.   The latches look exactly what I am after. I note you posted the a photo of the handle this is broken on mine, and good to see these can be replaced on their own. Just my luck that as well as a busted handle, the pin that locates down onto the frame is also busted off. At least I know where to go now.  Re the qtr vents.Glass is no prob ,I can get this cut locally, it is my frames that have rusted sections ,as a last resort,I can cut and weld in new sections then have the lot replated.    Once again Thanks.        Frank.
