8" diff axels

hi all rodders. i am building a 1946 ford jailbar i have a diff + head with no axels i need to no how i work out my axels length??can any one help me thanks

Measure from the outer face of the axle bearing to the cross pin in the carrier, subtract 0.060", and add 2.25" that will give you the overall length of each axle.
