More tranny questions

First I want to again say a big thanks to Tony for answering all manner of auto tranny questions for us here on this board. Sometimes I wonder what we'd do without you. I don't want to find out though  

I got this TH400 back together in record time (compared to that TH350 that I did that took over a month anyway. Now I just have to put the valve body back together and install it. I can't seem to find those pictures for the mods to allow first gear to be held. I remember I had to plug a small hole and grind a flat spot on a valve but I want to make sure I modify the right pieces. Can you post those pictures again?

Also I bought a shift kit for the TH400 in my coupe and it has a couple of components that require disassembly of the trans, namely a thicker snap ring for the center support and a different spring for the piston on the back side of the front pump. Are these necessary for installing the shift kit or are they just nice to have if you're rebuilding the trans anyway?
