TV = throttle valve cable in this discussion.

Looked at a customer's car today..... a hotrod.  32 vintage of real henry steel.

He was unhappy with the operation of the Hughes Performance  700 tranny in his car.  He says : " I can not get the cable adjusted so the trans operates well"

He takes me for a ride. The trans does shift wrong.  hard 1-2 shift at slow speeds , 2-3 shift a bit softer as the speed/throttle increases.

Open the hood.  A nice EFI chevy sitting there.  I check the TV cable set up, it's nice work.  Problem is : (insert drum roll) " it operates backwards".

Yes....... the TV cable is 'released' as the throttle is applied.  The TV cable should be "pulled " as the throttle is applied.

I made some suggestions on a correction for this problem.  He will bring the car back when he gets the changes made.

Next week.... I work on a 1927 Dodge that the owner's grand father bought in 1929.  The grand son  has owned the car since 1955.
