Sound deadening material

I am looking for the peel & stick type of sound material. I have not looked around lately for this stuff .

years ago I used to get some cheap/heavy stuff from the body shop suppliers. I guess I need to lok there first?

I do not really want to spray on stuff. I do not want to remove the seats , etc.

Hello;
I got mine from EBAY and it only cost about $80.00 and was shipped to my house vis DHL. The sheets are 18"x24" and I do believe that there is about 18 sheets in a box! Quite a deal, I thought.
Just search interiors for Sound deadening.

One of the boards I am on had a discussion on this a month or two ago. Several of the guys are going to Home depot and there is a peal and stick roofing material that is foil on the outside. Not very expensive. It is normally used to prevent ice dams and to cover the area between a flat roof and a parapet wall. Looks pretty much like dynomat.

Tony, when I was in Phoenix Jim took me to Elpolacko's shop and he had some stuff that was like you're asking about. I forgot the name (probably Dynamat) but I've got it at home. I be at werk rat naow. :?

I'm doing the same investigation. Here is an interesting review. The stuff you get at Home Depot is asphalt based. You can also look at

www.insulshield.net . They say it is vinyl based. I am considering Raammat based upon the review article.

i've had a couple of conversations with elpolacko about insulation. main reason for a couple of conversations is because i keep forgetting the name of the stuff he recommends. give him a call i'm sure he'll remember the name.

The article 48builder posted is really good. AFAIK the asphalt based Home Depot stuff releases if it gets hot, and smells bad too. You get what you pay for.

I used the B-Quiet stuff in my coupe too and it works great. Just make sure when you're putting it on to peel 1/2 of what you're putting on, then put that part in place, then peel the rest and put it into place CAREFULLY! If it sticks to itself it ain't commin apart!

Bob Drake also has an excellent peel & stick sound deadner that is reasonably priced. His shipping prices are kinda salty though.

There was an article that Scooter wrote on www.project33.com about the stuff he used. http://www.project33.com/article.cfm?ID=752 It was from Cascade audio engineering. http://www.cascadeaudio.com/ VB-2 is the product for like the doors and tight places for just dampening and VB-TS has the aluminum mylar over the foam for thermal insulation. Both have adhesive back.
I looked on the web and found both products for like 1/2 oof the prices listed on their web site. Much cheaper than Dynomat and very similar.
