It was dreary and rainy in New York today, so I was able to work on the car most of the day. I'm trying to get some primer on it before the snow flies.

Today I worked on the new window frame for the right side rear window. I am making the windows swing open from the rear, like Chrysler mini-vans do. I made a new frame from 1/4" rod and 16 gauge sheet metal. I welded that in place and made a mount for the motor. I am using some collapsible rubber molding to seal it when it is closed. I have to reshape the B-pillar to follow the shape of the window. You can see from the pic of the car window some of the miles of weld it took to fit the coupe B-pillars to the sedan body. Lot of welding yet to do.

Jeez, I'm having trouble tonight. Too much wine with dinner maybe. Here's the window opening.

A lot of craftsmanship in those pictures.  The uninitiated have no idea how much work it takes to get something custom to look like it was stamped out that way at the factory.
