Have you seen these things up close and in person yet? Go to http://www.zapworld.com/cars/smartCar.asp to see them. I was at a club meeting last night when one of these came by, then came back by and turned in to the restaurant (no it didn't turn into the restaurant, it turned in to the restaurant parking lot). We asked what kind of mileage it got and the fellow said 44. Would of thought it would get better than that. I know that you could put 4 of them parked next to each other and it still would not be as big as my HHR. It has a 61 bhp, 3 cyl rear-mounted turbo engine with a 8.7 gal tank.

   We have quite a few of them in Toronto..$1.10/Litre.. 1.30 for 94 octane.That is pushing $6 gallon gas. .I hear/ have read tests they get about 45-close but  NOT! 50 mpg Cdn. I thought they would do much better than that.My Escort wagon gets 45 Cdn Hwy at about 100k/65mph /hr. and it looks pretty big beside one of those! We also have an old Firefly 3 cyl that seriouslly makes the Escort look like IT burns a lot of gas.Never checked the 3 cyl but I would guess..55 or more Cdn/gallon.Then there is my 66 GMC 960.. 292..with 36" duals and 7.20 gears..UMmmm at $1.10 Litre..50mph to my cottage 120 miles away..100 litres.That trip won't happen again soon! Going tomorrow.Taking the Escort.

we have had them here for a few years, the panels are plastic and are removable so you can buy different colours/designs to suit you

Over here they get a 600cc turbocharged engine, which once played with goes like the clappers.

I often see them parked on the side of the street end on as they'll fit in a very small space like that!
