This is a crosley powered race car that was at the crosley nationals this weekend. It was originally started in the late 30's, but never finished. One of the original builder's grandsons is finishing it.
Welcome to hell. Here's your accordion.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail...but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying. "Wow...that was fun!"

That does look amazing. Do you know how the diff is driven by the engine? I wondered if the engine was installed "backwards", but that brings up cooling issues.....

rear end detail...look closely.

engine sits in chassis backwards.

There's a LOT to like on this car!

What a trick little car. I love the brass filling, great idea and lots of work!

I hope you all caught the really trick thing they did with the friction shocks!
Look closely and you will see that the shock is mounted to the frame with one link and to the axle with a second link but the shock "body" is not connected to anything. This make the amount of travel double to what you would have if you mounted the "body" to the frame and only had one link going to the axle. SO NEAT!! I go to antique auto races mainly to see the trick things that the old time fabricators did before CNC and all of the other stuff that we have today.
