Thanks, I'll see if he wants to try that. Actually he has electricity as the people in that area all have solar.  He probably has a cell phone also.  Where we are the city owns the elect. (actually they buy it and sell it to us) and they don't extend it but about 2 miles out of town.  Past that you make your own.  Where he lives (Devils Canyon between Blanding and Monticello) there are high voltage lines probably withing 1/4 to 1/2 mile of his house.
