Hi Guy's; If you run a 700R4 without the converter ever locking up (couple thousand miles), will this necessarily cause damage to the tranny? I'm assuming a increased heat factor and poorer mileage but what about the possibility of any assured internal damage?
Thanks, Frank
Tell the National Guard to mind the grocery store...

Frank you should have no problems.  You can tow in 3rd without it locked up.  My crappy B&M converter that I used at first started going bad and would not lock-up.  I drove if for hundreds of miles maybe thousands for part of a year with no problems.  I have a temp gauge on the tranny and it didn't go up much in my case, but I run a secondary external cooler and it usually runs below 135 with out the teardrop and about 145 with it.

Drive it to Utah in August :D .
