Tire Size question

1) What size tire came on a 59 ElCamino?

2) I also need to convert that to a metric 15" tire size.

3) Do you recommend 7" or 8" wheels.


I am pricing Radir Tri-Rib wheels and skinny white wall tires
for my 59 Aquamino project.

according to this page  it is either 7.50-14 or 8.00-14 which converts to P205/75R14 and 215/75R14 respectively. Cooper tires website lists a rim width for these tire as5.0-7.0" and 5.5-7.0" respectively. So I would not go any wider than 7".

To go to 15" rims, you would go to 215 65R 15
