I just went to Benner Metals in Fullerton.

I bought 76.69 lbs worth of remnants for $45.25!  Thats only $0.59 per pound!!!!

I got these peices:
3/16 x12x42 for $15
3/16 x14x32 for $14
3/8 x7x35 for $16.25

Step Notch Here I Come!!!!!!

We have a scrap yard near us, and periodically we will go roaming through it. You never know what you will find. Some weeks all the steel is way too big to use, but sometimes you can find nice sized angle iron or rectangular tubing, or other stuff suitable for rod building or building shop equipment. And it is cheap, just like your place.  We also go to a steel fabrication shop, and they keep a cut off section, where you can find all kinds of pieces at good prices.

Trouble is, ever since the Hurricanes we have had in Florida, the entire yard is full of aluminum from pool enclosures, and the like, so the steel is harder to find.
