The plastic loom covering stuff for wires.  I am not fond of it in certains applications like a hotrod or nice street car, it does have it's uses.

I noticed on Waytek site , they offer polyethylene  or nylon

The nylon loom is double the price, so I think the nylon is better.

I need to cover up some wires in the Falcon if I re-wire it..... the loom seems the easy way out here.

Nylon is more heat resistant. I don't like it either.  I just bundle the wire like aircraft wiring, and secure it with tie straps

otay...... what are the quailties of a good zip tie?

Seems like most of them break apart after a while under the bonnet in an engine compartment.

Wiring is one of my least favorite things and being basically lazy, the plastic loom stuff hides my tangles and protects them from rubbing on things they aren't supposed to.  I use it for a few different things too...like tying up Sue when she's bad  .

I used some here to keep the wires away from the header on my Bonneville racer

Well, the ones I use come from Del City, and are made from Virgin Nylon. They do have high temperatue ones listed too. The secret to good tie wraps are keeping them moist. That may be a problem in AZ, but not here.  If you have some tie wraps that are brittle from setting around the shop, and break when you try to use them, soak them in water over night, and they'll be like new. I know it sounds like bull, but it works. And no Tony, it won't heal broken ones
