Well this aint a Hot Rod but a problem just the same.
This truck belongs to a friend of mine so I haven't done the work
It's a early 90's 1/2 ton GMC pickup with disc front and drums back
Now the problem is that the drivers side front brake drags and gets excessively HOT!!! First thought was that the caliper was hanging up so it was taken apart and everything on that side was changed ( caliper, rotor,
bearings).......... But on the test drive it did the same thing so not sure where to go from here   :?  Any ideas?

Thanks for any input.....

Check for a collapsed brake hose

Stakebed

You might try a new brake hose. They can go bad inside and act as a check valve holding pressure on the caliper. If you jack up the wheel and it is tight, try cracking the bleeder. If it spurts a little fluid and then the wheel frees up, it's probably the hose. Hope this helps, Jim.

Disc rotors have runout as to throw the pads away from the disc after they have been applied. If your mate has had the rotors incorrectly skimmed in the past this may be the problem.
A problem I come across recently was a bent spindle which means when the caliper is bolted on it is out of square to the spindle causing the pads to make contact all the time.
I maybe from down under but I know which way is up.
Oh hell there goes another head rush.
