A friend of mine is also building a lakester and he is going to run a Saturn motor.  I just posted a page that shows how he adapted a Mazda transmission to the Saturn. It was a lot of work and he has done a great job with not much more than a saws-all, a file (his mill) and a welder. I wouldn't of tackled this.

we manufacture an adapter that should fit that engine bell housing bolt pattern to a chevrolet pattern.

i do not know how that would help... just mentioning it
