I'm installing a Rack and Pinion steering unit in my '63 Comet and I need to have some tapered inserts machined for my new center link.  Does anyone know the correct angle of the taper for a tie rod end? I am using the stock tie rod ends for a  V8 Comet or Falcon but I think they all have the same angle.

Thanks,

Tie rods are normally 1 1/2" or 2" per foot taper. I think your are 1 1/2".

Thanks Frank,  I came across the SAE Recommended Practice for tie rod ends yesterday afternoon and it said the same thing, a 1:8 ratio which would be 1-1/2" per ft.
