Late model swap from a 1988 350 to a 2000 5.3L
Any tips, tricks, things to avoid or look out for?
The guy is picking up the computer and wiring harness...anything else he needs?

I need to drop by here more often.
Might make remembering the password easier. :D

A buddy of mine is doing somthing like that now, he got a external fuel pump to supply the juice!

what transmission?

Seems like an adapter / spacer is needed for the crank hub on the earlier torque converters

Complete engine and tranny from a 2000 pick up.
I told him to get the pump from the 2000's tank since I'm sure it uses higher pressure for the injectors.
He has the stock gauge panel for the 88.  Will it work with the '00's ECM?
Looks like I'm headed to the EFI forum.

If the 88 has a cable driven speedo he'll need a speed sensor signal for the computer. Did he get the exhaust system too. If not he'll have to get O2 sensors. The computer also needs to knowwhat gear he's in.

There is a spacer / adapter for the crank hub of the converter.

Re-drill the flexplate for early converter designs and ANY GM tranny with the chevy bolt pattern will bolt on to the LS-1 motor.  OR you can buy a new flexplate predrilled for early pattern

We stock the converter hub adapter ,

I could not remember the converter pattern / flexplate problem in my earlier post.

sorry
