Still working on my first attempt at building a frame. Setting up the ride height. Know what I will end up with on the back, the front is the area that I don't know about.

Using a Magnum axle with a Posies reversed eye spring.

HELP

What should the spacing be between the spring clamp plate and the top of the axle with the weight of the engine (about a hundred pounds more than a SBC) etc on the suspension?

Under full load, the shackles should be leaning at 45 degree angles.

Bib ---  Pulled the front end down with a rachet strap until the clamp plate was between 2 1/2 and 3" from the axle, and the shackles at about 45 degrees. With the rear of the frame at the ride heigth that I want the caster is coming in at around 6 1/2 to 7 degrees.

Shouldn't have a problem with bottoming out, have notched the frame over the spring about 3/4" for extra clearance.

Starting to feel better about tacking the diff to the radius rod mounting plates with about a 3 degree angle on the pinion and adjusting the angle of the spring hangers.  Using a set of 35 radius rods slightly split with HD adjusters on the ends and will be installing torque bars from the top of the dif to the front of each radius rod, panhard bar and a 41 front spring mounted to a dropped crossmember.

Starting to look like it may be a problem getting a front bumper high enough to meet provincial requirements.   http://www.msra.mb.ca/html/mb_regs.html

Will try and figure out a way to get some pictures available once it is rolling.

Thanks
