If a blind person wears sunglasses, why doesn\'t a deaf person wear earmuffs??

Here's a chart with what you asked for and much, much more (good to keep for future reference).

The rear in my 54 Ford is almost identical with a 65-66 Mustang - I have a 65/66 Mustang rear and measured both.

I used a rear end out of a 69 or 70 mustang 9" for may 50 F1 and I believe they are interchangable with the 55/56 mine was 61.25 wheel mount to wheel mount.  Ed ke6bnl

I don't know about a 55-56 rear end but when I was in high school I put a 9" out of a '57 wagon in my '65 mustang on a sunday morning.  All I had to change was the rear u-joint.

FWIW, I have a 56 ranchwagon with an 8" from a 78 Granada. It was a drop in change, even used the smae perches. Bolted right up to the 56 springs. Cool, huh?

Ya, I know about the Granada rear, Dave, but they are almost impossible to find around here. I friend of mine lost a 65 Mustang in a fire a few weeks ago, and it had a fresh 3.00 posi in a 8" rear. I can buy the whole car at the salvage yard. It has a low mileage 302/C4 combo. The trans, I don't need, but the engine should be alright - didn't get hot enough to damage the plug wires.
