Go megasquirt and sort out the fuel side of things first.
MS2 is currently being beta tested and should be ready soon. This will give you ignition control and dual 12X12 tables by simply plugging in a daughter board to the old squirt.
This is the option I'm taking. Skin one cat at a time.
My other rod that I have already squirted has the injectors about 2 inches back from the valves and they spray onto the floor of the runners (4 banger with quad throttle bodies). I've left a deliberate mismatch on the manifold to head joint to aid mixing.
Engine runs smooth as silk. Much better than it did on carbs (dellortos) but she does run a bit rich when cold due to fuel puddling. Improves once the manifold is warmed up.
Good luck.
Time flies when you\'re no longer young

-I hear that! :D

Like I said, just building the manifold will be a trick in and of itself. My current ignition works fine, and can always be upgraded later.
