I picked up an old Miller Dialarc welder. It is a stick/tig machine for those unfamiliar with it. It has the old 2 plug type of foot control for the tig. My problem is the foot control wasn't with it. Do these interchange from other brands of machines? Anyone have an old one for sale? I saw 2 for sale on ebay. I'm sure the Miller unit there would work, but don't know if the Lincoln unit would. What makes these things work? Could I build one?

http://www.hobartwelders.com/mboard/ is a message board run by hobart. hobart and miller are owned by the same company ITW. factory techs frequent the above board, if you post your question there have the serial number and they can tell you wether they still have manuals available. they WILL definitly be able to answer your question. i have used a dailarc and it produces nice arcs, you'll enjoy it.

I've never seen one. All the TIG machines I have operated use multi-pin type single plugs.
