I have seen several websites that are selling molded polyurethane bushings and motor mounts. Does anyone know a company that sells polyurethane resin to make things out of? I have experience making silicone seals but am having trouble finding a local company that sells the resins.     Thanks, Shawn

I contacted Polytek and they assured me that 'NONE" of their resins were suitable for Automotive parts.
I'm thinking they are afraid of liability issues??

Thanks Stevie G, I got the same reply from Polytek. I got lucky on thursday, I found a company near Tulsa that can order just about anything that I want in the way of urethane resins. :D  The bad news is that it is about $170 a gallon. :?   Shawn

Depending on what you want to make,and how many,
you might be able to buy precast solid pieces in the correct hardness,
and machine them to get what you want.

You will need VERY sharp cutters;
and it wouldn't hurt to freeze the Polyurethane first,to make it stiffer,
to help get a better finish.

I have ggod luck turning it with carbide tooling, and finish sanding it to final size

Any particular formula or hardness that makes the best suspension bushings?
I'd like to pick up a stick of Poly/Delrin and try my hand at it.

Go here  http://www.mcmaster.com/  Scroll down to raw materials, under urethane they hava a chart explaining suggested applications. There is also one in the Delrin section of the plastics section
