I have a Q-jet on a 5.7 SBC that drips from the nozzles at idle. And adjusting the idle screws dosen't change the idle at all. Is there any reasonable cure for this? :oops:

sounds like the float level is too high.
if it has been ok, i think i'd replace the float as it's probably heavy with fuel or maybe a needle and seat problem.

or it MAY have too much fuel pressure(doubt it, though)

Hi;
I checked the float level and it's OK.  I looked in a Rochester book and it mentioned that it could be a problem on some carbs and their cure was to drill out the idle jet passages, but you have to have an extra long drill and I don't have that, so I guess I'll put up with it.
Thanks, Harry

just occured to me, you got a lot of cam in the engine?
having the throttle plates open more than designed will do that too.

No, it's just a mild cam
