The title of this subject of this title has kept me from reading it till today so I never realized it was intended for my enjoyment. With my history of builds that were started and never moved under their own power and the ones that got plates on them and saw road use I realize that I never lusted after anything, I mostly took what happened my way. These days I only drive maybe 6,000 miles a year and my thoughts center around on how I wound have built them to be of use to me now. In my current state of slowed coordination I wouldn't need anything capable of much over the speed limit but it should  be able to get there quick enough so that people wouldn't stuck behind " That * old guy". Mostly my dream car would  need power steering and power brakes and automatic transmission  but to remain simple I don't need power windows. My attention span is such that I don't need a radio or any of the electronic connected to it. If I ever had a desire for a particular vehicle it would Have been a "T" bucket because of their simplicity with all of their essentials out in the open (like a "Chopper").With reality setting in I guess the Jeepster comes close and I do enjoy the feeling of driving something I built. Of course there is a lot of time spent thinking  about  what I should/would have done different but I guess that brings me around to a reply to this subject. I had a "Hot Rod". It was a '30/"31 Model A Ford coupe. It was un-fendered and channeled and I sold it right after I had back surgery for fear that I wouldn't be able to drive it. I would build another one using my age and good sense . It wouldn't be channeled but it wouldn't have fenders either. The suspension would be built so whatever rear tire size I selected would look like they matched the radius of the rear fenderwells. The engine would be some kind of pre- computer  controlled V8 with matching automatic transmission and be showing with-out hood sides. If someone would trade pieces of a restored of a Model A Model coupe for the Jeepster I'd be tempted to build it but reality will keep me with what I've got. GPster

GPster, pretty much anything on this board is worth reading. Because you never know. ;) And I sure hope things are well with you, to the degree that they can be. :)
.
I don't think any of us would pass up a ready A.

I had a thought train leave IDJ station and it seems to be chugging along good but I passed by a question along the way. The route is something like this:

Want to draw. What to draw?

Obscure long term wonder pops up, about later model sedans that would have made sharp coupes. Like a Charger or Crown Vic.

Started moves toward putting one on my screen to trace but thought this is a weak idea, nobody will raise an eyebrow.

During chow though, I tossed some search terms about and found that there was a darn good looking Marauder convertible concept car once.

Hmm, but they just welded up the back door seamless, so the door is short. Non-issue on the ragtop looks there but with a coupe the door ought to be stretched.

I pretty much laid head against thought train window and had a snooze. Then outta nowhere, it hits me..

Is there a reason why folks aren't making Crown Rancheros?

Making Camino/Ranchero  clones is an easy idea to get swept up into . How about a pinto/ranchero . I saw fairmont/zephyr bodies converted to ranchero style . That body style was perfect for the mod . Also had a local guy that did it to a Pacer . A couple friends way back when had done it to a couple 70's honda civics .
